This section discusses the iTrack client setup and may be applied to every client computer required to connect to the iTrack server. The client setup consists of the following elements:

  1. Microsoft .NET 3.5 installation
  2. Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 installation
  3. iTrack installation
  4. iTrack configuration

Microsoft .NET 3.5 installation

This version of iTrack uses a lot of .NET technologies and requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed on the server and client computers. Follow these instructions to install the framework if it is not yet installed.

  1. Browse to the server's shared folder.

  2. Locate and run the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installer.

  3. If no prior Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation exists on the server, the following screen should show up. Check I have read and ACCEPT the terms of the License Agreement and click Next to initiate installation and follow subsequent prompts.

  4. If the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is already installed, the following screen should show up. It is not necessary to complete this process if the server already has Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on it, click on Cancel and Yes to exit the installer.

Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 installation

iTrack requires the Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 libraries to be installed for reporting functionality. Follow these instructions to install the necessary software.

  1. Browse to the shared folder on the server and locate the Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 installer.

  2. Run the Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 installer.

  3. If no prior Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 installation exists on the server, the following screen should show up. Click Next to initiate installation and follow subsequent prompts.

  4. Check I have read and accept the license terms and click Install.

  5. Click Finish.

iTrack installation

  1. Using a web browser, go to the Downloads page on the iTrack Knowledge Base website.
  2. Download and run the iTrack installer directly from the website.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Check Everyone and click Next.

  5. Click Next and wait for installation to complete.

  6. Click Close.

iTrack configuration

  1. Open iTrack.

  2. The following screen should show up with a fresh installation of iTrack.

  3. Set the Pickup Directory and Drop Directory fields and click Test File System Configuration.

  4. The following prompt should show up if there are no issues with the File System Configuration, otherwise refer to the Shared folder setup section to revise the setup.

  5. Enter the Database Configuration details as recorded during the Server Setup and click Test Connection.

  6. If the iTrack database is not yet created, the following notification should show up. Click OK to continue and click OK on the database creation confirmation.

  7. If the Database Configuration is correct, the following confirmation should show up, if an error shows up please refer to the settings of the database server recorded during the Server Setup.

  8. Click Save and click OK.

  9. Click Close.

  10. iTrack should now open and update the local database using lookup data fetched from the iTrack EDI server.
